Obituary of Adolfo Sartor

SARTOR, Adolfo - With heavy hearts the family of Adolfo Sartor announces his peaceful passing, in his 96th year, on April 20, 2010 at the Sault Area Hospital - General Site. Born in Sault Ste. Marie on January 24th, 1915, Adolfo worked his entire life as a stone mason at Algoma Steel and was a lifelong fan of the Soo Greyhounds and the New York Yankees. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Eda (Chiarelli). His family is thankful that they have been reunited. The patriarch of his family for so many years, Adolfo is lovingly remembered by his children Louis "Gigi" (Maxine), Tom (Marlene) and Janice Burke (Joe). Adolfo was also adored and is remembered with laughter, love and wonderful memories by his seven grandchildren: Paul (Denise), Tommy (Michelle), Jennifer (Michael Anderson), Sergio (Heather), Michael (Suzanne), Gregory (Christina) and Allan (Amanda). His ten great-grandchildren: Tyler, Jacob, Nathan, Ellianna, Rudy, Thomas, Owen, Anthony, Lucas and Grace were fortunate to have known such a wonderful and fun great-grandpa. He is also remembered by family in Italy. We will all miss his humour, love and endless support and know he is riding his bike and gardening in heaven now. His greatest characteristics were his inspirational devotion to his wife and family and his wonderful kindness. Friends are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation & Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 945-7758) on Friday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass to be held at St. Jerome Church on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. with Monsignor Victor Amadio officiating.
