We all remember the good times as well as the trials and tribulations of life as we get older. The good wine, food and company and especially the family gettogethers and traditions. As we have grandchildren and tru our own children we will not be forgotten and hope to be remembered with understanding and kindness of our own faults.

Dieter was my most admired and respected Uncle I had. Mainly because I had no father figure and since he lived with my mother and I on Woodward St. he became my surrogate father. His wife my Aunt Charlotte, my mother's youngest sister, Dieter and kids would pack up to go Skiing at Searchmount back in the later 50's when there was only a poma lift and rope tow. He had a passion for skiing which he taught me and passed that onto the kids as well as many other kids in the Sault as racing coach of the Landslide skii Hill. A family man of no fault, but he did instill fear when he spoke as he did not like to repeat himself. He loved his camp at Batchewana where we spent many times drinking his homemade wine which was always good to the palate. He was a good friend to my dad Lauri as building camps they had in common. When the grandkids came along he had mellowed a great deal as I teased him and said "how come your own kids could not get away with that?". He just laughed and winked at me. I could say lot's more as I knew him for 56 years or so and I loved him and his whole family as my own. "Shlaff gut Onkel."

Joerg, Werner, Harald and Ernie I’m sorry to hear of your father passing away he will be really missed. I will never forget the times when he helped and inspired myself and many other young people to ski. From my very first day, at the gullies behind our homes to the ski hill at Landslide. On the ski hill he was always fixture helping to teach and in running the racing team. He was such a dedicated person and I will never forget him. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you and your family at this difficult time. Pat & Peggy Aubrey

We were very sad to hear about the death of your dear father and grandfather. We remember the wonderful parties he had at his cottage for the family reunions. We really enjoyed his company, his heartfelt laughter and his dedication to the family. We send our deepest condolences. Our prayers and thoughts are with you during this time as we are out of town.
