GUZZO, Caterina (nee Gatto) - At a time chosen by God, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family, at the Great Northern Nursing Centre on May, 31, 2010 in her 95th year. Devoted wife of the late Gino Guzzo for 69 years. Loving mother and mentor of Tony Guzzo (Mary), Linda Coccimiglio (Carmen) and John Guzzo (Susan). Respected and proud hockey Nana of Gene Guzzo (Paula), Katrina Pierman (Craig), reunited with her beloved grandson Paul Guzzo; Carrie Apa (Stephen), Freddie and Elisa Coccimiglio, Jenna, Steven and Kevin Guzzo. Her wisdom, faith and exemplary legacy will be passed on to her great grandchildren Caterina, Mateo, Lucas and baby Pierman on the way. Predeceased by her parents Maria and Geniale Gatto; daughter-in-law of Caterina, Francesa and Antonio Guzzo; her beloved siblings Antonio (Adelina), Settimio (Gilda), Teresa Buffone (Michele), Rosario, Rosaria and Giuseppe Gatto. Sister of the late Ortenzia Guzzo (Francesco), Ida DeGregorio (late Francesco), Rico Gatto (late Antonia), Lucia Guzzo (late Giovanni) and Emma Gatto. Sister-in-law of the late Maria and Santino Mazzei, Peppina and Salvatore Pizzuto, Rosina Cuglietta (late Geniale) and Frank Guzzo (late Antonia). Guided wisely by her beloved godmother Francesca Buffone. To our relatives and friends of kindness and support here and around the globe (Pino Gatto) her lifetime companions Rosaria Pedatella and Elena Bernardo; her niece Linda Fiore for her generous, wonderful gift of the holy water, you are forever in our gratitude. Our mother humbly lived her life with prayer and taught us what is really important in life. God, family and friends. She followed Mother Teresa's words "My life has been a pencil in the hand of God, He will continue to write the next chapter." We will forever miss her sense of humour, luminous smile, her love of hockey (TML) and her zeal for life. Her long journey on earth was her greatest gift to us. Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 945-7758) on Friday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Veronica's Church on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 11 a.m. with Reverend Ron Ambeault officiating. Entombment at Holy Sepluchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial donations to St. Veronica's Church Memorial Fund or A.R.C.H. would be appreciated by the family. Special gratitude to the many devoted and compassionate care givers; Dr. P. Maione, the Great Northern Nursing Centre Staff, especially Palma, Pat, Kelsey, Loredonna and Cheryl. Nana, love you forever, love you for always. Prega per noi. www.northwoodfuneral.com
