Palma Briglio passed away very gently and sweetly into God's loving arms at Van Daele on Friday, June 11 at the age of 86. Very cherished wife of 63 years to Gaspare. Palma was the love of his life. Loving mother of Benito Briglio (Paula) of Toronto & Ada Bruno (Frank) of Sault Ste. Marie. Devoted grandmother of Christine Bruno (Stanley Decayette) of Ottawa, Meredith Briglio (Michael Douglas) of London, England, Joseph Bruno (Julia Sage) of Sault Ste. Marie and Whitney Briglio of Toronto. Dear sister of the late Alessandro Caruso (late Palmina), Emilia Briglio (late Edoardo), late Ernesto Caruso (Matilde), Pietruzza Gagliardi (Mario) all of Sault Ste. Marie, Giuseppina Mazzarello (Ernesto) of Ottawa, Ortenzia Sdao (late Francesco), Christina Spina (Gabriele), Carmela Bossio (Geniale), and the late Francesco Caruso (Francesca) all of Italy. Sister-in-law of the late Francesco Briglio (late Mariuzza), late Emilio Briglio (Emma), all of Italy, the late Nicole Briglio (Cesira) of Montreal, Chicchina Coccimiglio (Michele) of Burnaby. She will be remembered with great affection by many nieces and nephews. Palma was an amazing chef and was always sharing her delicious baking and cooking with relatives and friends. She treasured her God, family and friends. Her vocation in life was to be the best mother, wife and grandmother that she could be and she was. Her indomitable and valiant spirit will continue to be an inspiration to all of us. Friends may call at the Northwood Funeral Home Cremation & Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road, 945-7748) on Monday, June 14 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Veronica's Church (559 Douglas Street) on Tuesday, June 15 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Ron Ambeault officiating. Entombment at the Holy Sepulcre Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial donations made to St. Veronica's Parish Hall Renovation, St. Veronica's Memorial Fund or Van Daele Manor Residents Council would be appreciated. A huge bouquet of thanks to the loving staff of the 4th floor at Van Daele for their dedicated and wonderful care. Your compassionate support and strength helped us through very difficult times and will never be forgotten. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. M. Febbraro and Dr. A. Cziffer.
