Obituary of Antonio Plastino

On Friday, December 24, 2010, at the Sault Area Hospital Plummer Site, Antonio, in his 86th year, peacefully left the arms of his family and was received by the arms of the angels on the most joyous night of the year. Devoted husband and best friend of Maria for 63 years. Adored father of Frank (Betty), Armando (Paula), Nella Chiarello (Frank), Dan (Tish) and the late Sylvana Plastino. Cherished "Papa Tony" of Michael Plastino (Shelley), Marie Plastino, Anthony Plastino, Julie Bennetto (Peter), Natalie Plastino, Gene Chiarello (Melissa) and Terri Chiarello. Loving and proud great grandfather of Marc, Kaitlyn, Caed and Oliver. Predeceased by his parents Francesco and Angela of Aiello, Italy. Son-in-law of the late Francesco and Angela Coccimiglio of Calabria, Italy. Beloved brother of Nicola Plastino (Rosina) of Aiello, Italy, Maria Amendola (late Mario) of Aiello, Italy, Settimo Plastino (Rosaria) of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Anna Pelosci (late Giovanni) of France. Brother-in-law of the late Elvira Guzzo (late Ralph), late Rosaria Coccimiglio (late Arcangelo), late Louisa Meraglia (late Salvatore), late Anna Rosa (late Eugenio), Cesare Coccimiglio (Maria), late Mario Coccimiglio (Teresa), Eugenio Coccimiglio (Rosa) and Michelina Naccarato (late Giovanni). Antonio will be remembered by his many nieces and nephews in Italy, France, the United States and Canada. He will also be missed by his close friend and "roommate" Geniale Chiarello (Teresa). His family will always remember him for his wonderful sense of humour; his storytelling, singing and dancing will indefinitely be missed at family gatherings. We take comfort in knowing that he spent this Christmas together with his beloved daughter, Sylvana. Special thanks to his favourite nurses at the Complex Care unit; your compassion and kindness were greatly appreciated. Friends are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation & Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 945-7758) on Tuesday December 28th from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass to be held at St. Veronica's Church on Wednesday December 29th at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Ron Ambeault officiating. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial donations to the Sault Area Hopital would be appreciated by the family.
