MARSHALL, Floyd - The family of Floyd Marshall are sad to announce his passing after a battle with cancer on January 9, 2011 in his 85th year. Floyd and Elva were married in 1950 and together raised their four children Dennis (Debbie), the late Brenda Madill (Brian), Leanne McCormick (Blain) and Barb Fontaine (Larry). Floyd loved life and was proud of being a WWII veteran and an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He was a friend and helper of the Ladies Auxiliary. Floyd was happiest when enjoying the great outdoors be it on his trapline or on Ranger Lake trying to catch "the big one." Floyd shared his love of the outdoors with his grandchildren; Michelle, Jason, Kim, Kellie, Kyle, Billy, Kyle, Katelyn, Alysha and Jacob. Floyd was also blessed to share his life with his 12 great grandchildren. Floyd was born in Sault Ste. Marie, the son of Leonard and Zella and enjoyed sharing stories of growing up on Second Line with family and friends. Dear brother of Dorothy McQueen (late Ken), late Don (Erma), late Paul (late Jackie), Betty Demour (late Ron), late Audrey Siegman (late Bill) and Ken (Jean). Brother-in-law of the late Lloyd Rutledge (late Dorothy), late Jim Rutledge (Kae), late Mervin Rutledge (Millie), late Velma Springgay (late Bill), Mildred Kelly (late Bill), late Orville Rutledge (late Glenna) and the late Marlene Stanley (Harvey). Please join Floyd's family to say farewell at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation & Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and again on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 from 1 p.m. until time of funeral service in the Chapel at 2 p.m. with Mrs. Helen Smith officiating. Memorial donations to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 25 or the Canadian Cancer Society - Algoma Chapter would be appreciated by the family.
