Dear Mary and Family, We were saddened to hear of Walter's passing. We have many wonderful memories of him through golf, as well as through working with him in his role as university supervisor in the education program at Lake Superior State University. He was a great role model for the interns, always encouraging them in their teaching, seeking the positive. It wasn't always easy, but he respected them, and they returned that respect. He was a wonderful educator. He will be greatly missed. Love, Dorothy and Phil Dansdill

Your husband, father, and sibling will be deeply missed by his extended circle of friends in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. He modeled the best attributes of living in an international border town. He left an indelible mark on the professional lives of many Lake Superior State University student teachers from Ontario in his role as a university mentor. Too often Walter would stand with his fellow Canadian veterans to pay tribute at the memorial services to the young Michigan soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan. He leaves a lasting impression of the importance of honor, character, gentility, and humor in life. Thank you for sharing him with us. He was so proud of all of you. In deepest sympathy, Paulette Attie School of Education Lake Superior State University SSM, Michigan

We are very sorry that we could not be with you to remember Uncle Walter and celebrate his spirit with those that loved him. His time here influence many lives for the good: in his work, service and most importantly, his family. We shared a tear and a smile remembering him as I write this. You and he, are in our thoughts. With much love.
