CISTARO, Letizia
We regret to announce the sudden but peaceful passing of Letizia Cistaro on Friday February 4th, 2011, at the age of 75 with her family by her side. She is now reunited with loving husband Epifanio who passed just one year earlier. She leaves behind son Sam (Kristi) and only grandson Sebastian. Daughter of the late Demetrio and the late Anna Maria Perri. In Ontario, she leaves behind wonderful brothers and sisters-in-law Pietro (Franca) Perri and Elena (Frank) Longo. Also missing her dearly are Carmelina (Palmerino) Luzzi, Vincenzo (Elisabeta) Cistaro, the late Leno and (late Carmela) Cistaro, Palina (late Federico) Petrone, Rosa (late Demetrio) Torcchia and Elena (Alfredo) Borlenghi. She was also a loving aunt and great aunt of many nieces and nephews. Letizia loved her family both near and far, especially her grandson who was the new love of her life. She was an outstanding cook, a good friend and had a great sense of humour. Born in San Demetrio Corone in 1935, she moved to Canada and Sault Ste. Marie in search of a new life and became a Canadian Citizen shortly after. Friends may call at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation & Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Tuesday evening, February 8th from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Jerome Catholic Church (26 Carmel Road) on Wednesday, February 9th, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. with Monsignor Amadio officiating. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial contributions to the SAH Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family. Special thank you to all of her caring doctors and health care practitioners over the years and especially to the wonderful, knowledgeable doctors and staff at The General Hospital - Fifth Floor - ICU.
