Obituary of Gary Long

LONG, Gary - Peacefully after a courageous battle with A.L.L. on Saturday, February 5, 2011 at the Sault Area Hospital - Plummer Site. Beloved husband and best friend of Joan. Adored father of Tine Sheppard (Kirby) and adopted son Leo Ayotte (Nicole). Special papa and playmate to Daniel and Benjamin Sheppard. Son of Harold Long and the late Eloda Berkin. Brother of Randy (Debbie), Allan (Joanne), Kevin, Ruth Johnson, Debbie Michaud (Bill), Greg (Tammy), Lisa and Gary's adopted sister Dawna Witty (Harley). Son-in-law of the late Fern and Art Lance. Brother-in-law of Patricia Lance, Bruce Lance and Bonnie Lance-Long. Gary will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation & Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral and committal service in the Chapel on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 2:30 p.m. with Monsignor Victor Amadio officiating.
