PRESTON, Kenneth Alan 1955-2011 - Peacefully, on Tuesday, March 29th , after a nine year battle with prostate cancer, we laid to rest our husband and father Ken at the age of 55. Cherished husband and best friend of Patty (nee van Boerdonk). He is survived by his sons Kenny, Matthew and his daughter Mae Wannamaker (Paul). Step-father to Terri Shaw (Brandon) and Kevin Gagnon (Dana). Special grandfather of four. Son of Chris Parker and the late Charles Preston. Brother of Rod (Linda), Joan (Curt), Carol MacMillan (Rodger), Judy Landry (Dale), John Parker (Becky), Diane Bailey (Kent), Joey McKee (Doug), Phillip Preston and Lynne Preston Darryl). Son-in-law of Bill and Mary van Boerdonk. Brother-in-law of Susan Veldt (Nick), Karen Veldt (Bert), Judy Evoy (Bill), Nancy Hendrick (Scott) and Peter van Boerdonk (Brenda). Uncle to many nieces, nephews and long time friend Tim Bailey. Ken was an inspiration to all with his determination and drive to keep going despite the progression of the disease. Ken's mantra became "It is never too early to get tested." Friends may call at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation & Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Sunday, April 3, 2011 from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service in the Chapel at 1 p.m. with Mrs. Helen Smith officiating. Memorial donations to ARCH in Ken's name would be appreciated by the family.
