Obituary of Janina Kwolek

Kwolek , Janina (Zając) Died Saturday April 16, 2011, and went to be with her Lord and Saviour, in her 81st year, at the F.J. Davey Home, with her devoted loving husband, Edward, of 59 years, by her side. Predeceased by her parents Maria Malesh and Franciszek Zając of Poland. Beloved mother of Krystyna Ferguson (late Ronald); Henryk (Susan); and Romuald (Helen). Grandmother of Dana Ferguson (Shawn), Brendan Kwolek (Barbra), Erin Kwolek, Trevor Kwolek, Stephanie Kwolek, David Kwolek , Jeffery Ferguson (Christine) and Bradley Ferguson (Lesley) and great grandmother of Gabriel , Leah and Cody. Sister of Helena Gorski (late Boghdan) of Scotland and Stanislawa Widlas (late Marian) of Sault Ste. Marie. Aunt to many nieces and nephews. Born in Poland, Janina was displaced from her home and forced to live in a work camp in Siberia. She then travelled with her mother and sisters during the war through Persia to Africa where she remained until after the end of the Second World War. She made her way with her family to Victoria, British Columbia, where she corresponded with the love of her life, Edward. She then arrived in Sault Ste. Marie where she married and raised a family. Devoutly religious, Janina was a member of the Ladies of the Holy Rosary for over fifty years. After suffering a serious stroke over fifteen years ago, Janina was an inspiration to all of us for the way she lived her life. Fiercely proud of her Polish heritage, she encouraged her children to maintain their language, culture and traditions. Visitation at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation & Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) from 7 - 9 p.m. on Monday, April 18, 2011 with parish prayers at 8 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish, at the corner of 2nd Line and First Avenue, by Fr. Boguslaw Jaroszek on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at 10 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Holy Family Parish would be appreciated.
