Obituary of Thomas West

WEST - Thomas Fredrick of Sault Ste. Marie, passed away unexpectedly at Roseview Manor in Thunder Bay, Ontario on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at the age of 73. Tom was born on December 19, 1937 and lived with his family in Rydal Bank where he met the love of his life Shirley Junor and celebrated 50 years of marriage before Shirley passed away in 2008. Thomas will be lovingly remembered by his daughters Shelley Whitney (Harry), Kathy Jean (Larry), Brenda West (Pete), his son Steve and "special" niece Scarlett (Brian). Grandfather of eleven and great grandfather of six. Tom is survived by his brothers Grant (Christine) and Archie West, numerous sisters and brothers-in-law. Tom will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation & Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Monday, June 6, 2011 from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service in the Chapel at 1 p.m. Interment in Cloudslee Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to Heart and Stroke of Ontario or the Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated. Dad's main interests were his family, spending time at their camp on Ottertail Lake, hunting with his brothers-in-law, long drives in the country and trips to Thunder Bay to visit family.
