THERIAULT, Anna - Our beautiful Mother, Anna, died peacefully on Tuesday June 14, 2011, leaving this world as she lived in it, with dignity and grace. She joins her husband John and baby Michael, to watch over her devoted family of 11 children, 23 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, including: Roberta Miller (Erin, Ariel, Jodie, Becky, Nick and Charlotte), Jack and Gerry Theriault (Fergie, Jenni, Jake, Amelia and Boston; Monique, Mike, Abigail and Mikayla), Pat and Mike Nanne (Karla, Luis, Gabriella, Anna, Michael and Kevin), Paul and Janice Theriault (J.P.), Peter and Kim Theriault (Katie and Michelle), Ken Theriault, Len Theriault (Michael, Michael Jr., Emmalea, Mya, Isaac, Lisa and Kaelyn), Hyla and Peter O'Boyle (John, Maggie and Kevin), Nancy and Mike Doan (Eli, Michael and Vanessa), Lori and Joe Griggs (Matthew and Stephen), Lynne and Kip Miller (Hannah and Jeff). She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Madeline and John Aymar and many nieces and nephews. Anna was predeceased by Rev. Fr. Phil Theriault, Gene and Marg Theriault, Rev. Fr. Frank Theriault, Marie and Bill Taylor, Brendan and Dot Theriault. Anna was born in Mulgrave, Nova Scotia in 1923. She was the daughter of Margaret and William MacDonald and the sister of Hyla, Betty, Sonny, Ruth, Donald, Leonard, Roberta and Robert. Mom arrived in the Soo in 1945, as a young war bride. Anna and John were married in turbulent times, but spent 52 happy years raising a family in faith and love - rich on laughter and brimming with support. We are eternally grateful to have had such a pillar of strength and wisdom to guide us through our lives. Anna believed fervently that children were a gift from God, on loan, to be loved and cherished. Her example is a model for us all. "A mother's love for her child is like nothing else in the world. It knows no law, no pity, it dates all things and crushes down all that stands in its path." The family wishes to thank Dr. Gieni and the staff on Unit 1B at the Sault Area Hospital for their compassionate, tender care of our mother. Friends may call at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation & Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Friday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Precious Blood Cathedral on Saturday, June 18, at 11:00 a.m. with Father Hamish Currie officiating. Should you wish, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Anna Theriault to the Sault Area Hospital. www.northwoodfuneral.com Rest in peace, Mom and may perpetual light shine upon you.
