I worked with Lori for several years while with the Ontario Human Rights Commission and when I retired, worked for her for a short period of time. When I think of her only positive things come to mind. She truly was an inspiring, kind and remarkable person. I'm sure nothing I say would not have been said already by the multitude of her friends.....and there were many. I will miss her and will forever remember her in my daily prayers. I know that she is now making her mark in Heaven and if by chance the good Lord needs someone to improve something that is already perfect, Lori will take up the task willingly. Dearly remembered by me always, Rick Della Vella

Dear Rainone Family, I was fortunate to have known and worked with Lori early in her human rights career. I was struck by her amazing energy and commitment. Her untimely passing is indeed a tragic loss. Perhaps you will take some comfort in the certainty that, in using her brilliance for social change, Lori leaves the world a better place for all of us. The work will continue. Her star will always shine. Her human rights "extended family" will always miss her.

Joan and Sam you must be so proud of such a wonderful daughter who brought so much to so many. Steve, Tim, Mark and the late Paul you were all such good brothers to the little princess, my deepest and heartfelt sympathies to all of you.

It’s difficult for me to even think that Lori passed away, because in my memory Lori is going to be alive forever. My first memory about her, it’s back from 1998, when being very sick and in hospital, Lori visited me and supported me and my family in that very difficult time. Her support meant a lot for me. Coming from a country where the word cancer was synonym with death, I came here where I found some friends who gave me strength and confidence that I can fight with this sickness , that nothing is lost as long as you have some beautiful people around you. She was one of them, and I can never be too grateful to her for what she did for me and for my family, in my first years in Canada. She was a friend, she was a sister and she was a mentor for me. We worked together for some years and she never stopped to surprising me with her passion for superlative work, with her dedication to create better applications that help people do their job better and faster, with her imagination and creative skills. How to be able to imagine our weekly teams meeting without Lori ? How to be able to imagine that I will not see again Lori’s smile, whenever our pathways crossed? How to be able to imagine a world without Lori ? Stelian

My sincere condolences to Lori's family, relatives, friends and colleagues. This is a shock and a real loss. I worked closely with Lori from my arrival at the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario, where WorkGroup Designs was helping us with a new case management system for a new process. What stood out was Lori's genuine concern about the work of the Tribunal and the people who worked there. As others have said, the business relationship quickly became a friendship - one that I value even more now.

Dear Rainone Family, We were so sorry to hear about Lori's passing. She was a wonderful person who was a great friend to my sister Paula and someone who helped both Luana and I out when we moved to Toronto. When I got my first job, received my first paycheck, Lori helped me understand why they government was taking so much tax off!!!! I was so mad. I was completely stunned that they too almost 700.oo dollars off - but she explained that working for government wasn't the same as working for Hi Way Variety and that they take off more taxes to help pay for our health and education. We laughed about this every time we bumped into each other The one thing I remember best about Lori, she had a generous heart and cared very much for the people around her, and not just family and friends. I know that her true legacy in life was her compassion for all the people she truly helped so many through out her career. My heart goes out to all of you. Your daughter and sister Lori was truly a loving and giving person. How lucky we have all been to have had her in our lives. Our love and prayers, Marla and Luana DiCandia

When I returned to the Law Society in 2006 to work in case management, I thought “my God….what am I getting myself into”! I felt overwhelmed and very much out of my depth….until I met Lori. Her patience and encouragement enabled me to not only learn the system but also to dream for the future. No issue was ever too small…no question or idea was ever too silly for Lori! I will miss her vision and her expertise…however I will miss her friendship even more. To the Rainone family and Lori’s many friends, I extend my deepest condolences. Lori, I take some comfort in knowing that you are now in that very special place in heaven, reserved for very special people.

Lori was such a good friend and roommate. Carmela Sullo and Lori and I spent our university years together in Windsor. So many wonderful memories and good times, like the time we went on a road trip to the Soo and Lori pointed out all of her favourite places, her high school, the boat she painted each summer and her father's garage. Most of all, she loved being home with her family. To her parents, Joan and Sam and her brothers, my husband Tony Thoma and I send our deepest sympathies. My heart is broken. I shall never forget my friend and my pal, Lori. May perpetual light shine upon her.
