Obituary of Stanley Wolowich

WOLOWICH, Stanley - At the age of 80 years. Adored husband and best friend to Nancy. Dear father of Irene Palumbo (Frank), Bill Wolowich (Kathi), Michael Wolowich (Patty), Garry Wolowich (Lorrie), Margie Thibault (Don), Lee Wolowich (Tammy) and Barb Greensted (Chris). Loved Grandpa (Papa) to Alex (Gord), Sarah (Paul), John (Stacy), Jennifer (Marshall), Melissa (Brad), Chris, Scott, Nancy, Donny, Jessie, Tyler, Beau and Zak. Great grandfather to 10. Stan will be sadly missed by his twin brother Walter (Gwen). Predeceased by his sister Miskor. Special brother-in-law to Lois Gregg (Pete) and Jerry Lee. Stan will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. Stan worked at Algoma Steel for 40 years and retired in 1989. Stan will be remembered by many for his love of sports. He and his brother were on the first Greyhound Hockey Team. He loved jogging, cross country skiing, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and golfing. Friends may visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation & Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Monday, July 11, 2011 from 10 a.m. until time of funeral service in the Chapel at 12 noon. Cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of your choice.
