Please share a memory of Graziano to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
GULLI, Graziano - The light in our world dimmed on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 with the passing of Graziano Gulli, our beloved father, husband and Nono. Our lives will be forever changed because we will not be able to enjoy his presence but he will be forever cherished in our hearts and minds. Graziano recently returned from a trip to Italy where he was fortunate to spend time with his loved ones there. They, including the numerous family and friends here in Canada, are also grieving his passing. It is with one voice and firmly held belief that he is in the company of those that went on before him and is in excellent health, free from the debilitating disease he confronted each day. Though we will all miss him there is much to celebrate about the man we all loved. He was blessed with a life of adventure which included travel and an enjoyment of nature's beauty. He was happiest when he was outside fishing, hunting, picking mushrooms, blue berries, or enjoying a picnic under a tree. Graziano was also known for his sense of humor. His childhood friends often spoke about how he was devilish and the biggest jokester. He never lost that sense of humor. Ten months ago Graziano was able to welcome his granddaughter, Makara Grace to the family. She brought joy to life and his heart overflowed with love each time he held her. Graziano was blessed with a marriage filled with love and support. His wife, Grazia, who he recently remarried, was at his side always to offer support, hope and encouragement, in sickness and in health. He was loved. It is with deep sadness we announce sudden the passing of Graziano Gulli on Tuesday, September 20, 2011. Cherished husband of Grazia for 52 years. Beloved father of Maria (Richard) Hongisto, Rina Gulli, and Joseph (Christine) Gulli. Overjoyed Nono to Makara Grace. Brother to late Antonio, Maria Gulli (late Francesco), late Vito Gulli (Caterina), late Vincenzo Gulli (Maria-Angela), Domenico Gulli (Caterina), Caterina Corrado (Francesco), and Teresina Amato (Antonio) all of Chiaravalle Centrale, Italy. Brother in law of Pietro Fabiano (Lina), late Francesco Fabiano (Maria) (late Barbara), late Liberata Pitaro (late Antonio), Caterina Gulli (late Vito), Concetta Pitaro (Giuseppi). Zio to hundreds of nieces and nephews to the Gulli, Fabiano, Pellegrino, Parisi, Nicoletta, Macri, Corrado, Amato and Pitaro families in Sault Ste. Marie, Toronto, Italy, Switzerland and Liechenstein. Cousin to the Iozzo family, and friend to the Skorich family. Dearest friend and Compa to the DeLuca family. For several years, Graziano valiantly battled Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, a rare Parkinsonian condition. Friends may visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation & Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Friday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass to be celebrated at St. Gregory's Church on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 10 a.m. with Reverend Ron Ambeault officiating. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial donations to St. Gregory's Church or the Parkinson's Society of Canada, PSP Fund would be appreciated. The family wishes to thank the fire department, the emergency team at the SA Hospital, Dr. Gouche, nurse Katie in ICU for their excellent care, and especially Dr. Brynlea Barbeau and Dr. John Adams and all of his care givers and therapists who have so excellently and compassionately cared for him. www.northwoodfuneral.com
