GIUSTINI Cecilia Luisa (Pacione)
Peacefully passed away with dignity and grace with her children by her side at Van Daele Manor on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at the age of 83. Born in Ofena, Italy, daughter of the late Pietroangelo and Maria Pacione. Daughter-in-law of the late Domenico and Domenica Giustini, Villa Santa Lucia degli Abruzzi. Predeceased by her devoted and loving husband of 47 years, Rinaldo Giustini. Extraordinary mother of Iole MacDonald (Rick), Domenic (Natalie), and Peter who was exceptionally close to his mother. Sole and supporting sister to brothers late Antonio, Italy, late Domenico, (Adele) SSM, and Nicolino (Connie) Toronto. Sister- in-law of the late Antonia Casauria (Nello) of Italy, late Francesco Giustini (Flora), Toronto. Reverent Nonna of Amanda Giustini, Ricky MacDonald (Dani), Shelby MacDonald (Steven) and Meagan Giustini. Ricky and Shelby are forever grateful to their caring Nonna who helped to raise them from birth to high school. Great Nonna to granddaughter Luna-Winter Simpson of Hamilton. Cecilia loved her doll, Chi Chi, who was as real a baby to her as can be and provided her joy and solace during her time at Van Daele. Cecilia will be missed by cousins remaining as well as nieces, nephews, and friends. Absence of loss will be felt by her special friend Norma Martynuck who helped care for Cecilia before entering Van Daele. Thanks to Shelley and Red Cross staff who provided the utmost care to our mother when she resided at the Villa Santa Maria. The family wishes to acknowledge Cecilia’s kindness and generosity towards others, and that she was an exceptional cook whose creations were well known in our family. Prior to her health failing, Cecilia was a member of the St. Gregory choir and CWL Association. We cannot express enough the outpour of support and respect received from Van Daele staff, particularly 3rd floor where our mother spent her last 2 ½ years. You went above and beyond the call of duty and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. “To the world Cecilia was one person, but to one person and her family, she was the world.” Visitation will take place at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Wednesday, November 9th from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Service to be held in the chapel on Thursday, November 10th at 9 a.m. at Northwood Funeral Home. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In light of Cecilia’s givingness and in lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the Alzheimer’s or Canadian Diabetes Associations. Thank you to everyone who made a difference in our mother’s life.
