In his 95th year, John has gone on to join his wife, the late Margaret and his daughter, the late Margareth Hall (Don). He will be missed by his son Hans (Michele) and by his grandchildren: Gene, Shannon (Anthony), John (Kimi), Kelly (Lionel), Annelies (Shawn) and Ryan (Samantha). John was also Opa to his great-grandchildren: Stephan and Alec; Jack and Liam; Avery and Hannah. John is also remembered by brother Gerhard (Netty) in Holland and by Peggy Greco (Simon), Don Hall and Myrtha Parn.
John was born in Holland in 1921. He was a WW2 Allied Veteran. John moved to Canada with Margaret in the 1950’s to raise their family. He became a Canadian citizen and worked at his profession as an accountant well into his 70’s. An avid gardener, John won awards for his gardens in Washago, ON and enjoyed this pursuit throughout his life.
The family expresses its gratitude to all the kind people who helped in John’s care. Thank you to Dr. Haapala and to staff at the Algoma Manor, the Dr. Trefry Memorial Ctr., CCAC, and Care Partners.
John’s life will be celebrated at home in a private remembrance. Donations to the Salvation Army are appreciated.
