Obituary of Egilda Chiarello
Please share a memory of Egilda to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with heavy and sad hearts and also with celebration of a life well lived, that the family wishes to announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother and nonna, who passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the F. J. Davey Home on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at the age of 78.
Beloved and treasured wife of Carmine Chiarello for 60 years, who has been devoted and by her side each and every day of those years and even more so since she was diagnosed with Alzheimer's 13 years ago.
Cherished and much loved mother of Carmela Grand (Larry), late Ralph(Cathy) and Cory (Lita). Loving nonna to late Sarah M. Grand, Rachel, Kassandra, Carmine Jr. and CJ Chiarello (Mother Toni Chiarello)
She will be missed by many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends, especially Lina and Bruno Guidoccio of Sault Ste Marie and Franca Posteraro of Montreal.
Egilda Bruni was born in Lago, Cosenza, Italy, daughter of the late Carmine Bruni and late Rosina Posteraro. Sister of the late Rafelina Greco (late Giuseppe) and the late Giovanni Bruni (Angelina). Survived by her brothers Pasquale (Rosetta), Mario (Rosetta), Giuseppe (Lina), Armando (Terry), Franco (Teresa), all of Montreal and her sister Marietta Borrelli (late Mario) of Italy. Sister-in-law of Teresa (late Geniale), Anselmo (Maria) of Sault Ste Marie and Gidio (Francine) of Belgium. Daughter-in-law of the late Raffaele Chiarello and the late Carmela Greco.
Egilda loved her family above all. There was nothing she wouldn't do for her husband, her children and especially her beautiful grandchildren. She was happiest having her family together. Her passion for cooking and gardening complimented each other and you could always find her in the kitchen, making sure that whatever she was cooking was perfect and it always was. Her smile and laughter embodied her passion for life and her joy touched all those who were fortunate enough to know her. She was and always will be simply sunshine, love and light.
Her love will never leave us. It will live forever in our memories and in our hearts and it will surround us like the arms of an angel. We will carry her in our hearts for the rest of our days and be grateful for the memories she left us.
