Obituary of Elvira Bruni

Our beloved mother, Elvira reached the end of her journey at the Sault Area Hospital at the age of 94 on Saturday, January 28th, 2017. She was our “stella luminosa”. Immigrating to Sault Ste. Marie in 1954 with a young family, she taught us through her work ethic how she survived a world war, the importance of education and the unconditional love of family. Devoted wife of the late Vincenzo Bruni. Dear mother of; Dr. Joseph Bruni (Veronica) of Toronto, Mary Cuglietta (Tony), Nanda Ianni-Palarchio (late Mike), Carla Ruggeri (Ermanno) of Toronto, Anita Fata (Maurizio), Sylvester Bruni (Diana) of Toronto, and Don Bruni (Rosemary Tassone). Grandmother of; Christopher Bruni, Eva Serafini (David), Ralph Cuglietta (Carmela), Emily Thibodeau (Rob Wildman) and Melinda Travis (Curtis), Michael Ianni-Palarchio (Sofia) and Steven Ianni-Palarchio (Melanie), Christian Ruggeri (Kim), Regina Scott (Chris), Rebecca Ruggeri, David Ruggeri (Alicia), Danny Fata (Miriam), Andrew Fata (Xiaru), Vincent Bruni (Kristin), Sarah Bruni, Jesse Bruni, Donnie Bruni and Francesca Bruni. Great-grandmother of; Simone, Antonio, Ada, Alessia, Siena, Maddison, Austin, Wyatt, Jocelyn, Lester, Zak, Gabriella, Eddie, Mia, Marcus, Jeremy, James, Olivia and Lauren. Daughter of the late Salvatore and Luisa Pucci. Sister of the late Matilda Marrelli. Daughter-in-law of the late Francesca and Giuseppe Bruni. Sister-in-law of the late Rosario and late Luigina Bruni, Anna DeCarlo (late Ernesto) of Ottawa, Maria Pagliaro (late Nicola) of Cleto, Italy. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Our family would like to thank the staff of Extendicare Maple View (Harmony Bay) especially Denise, Loredana and Terri P. We also would like to recognize SAH Emergency staff, Rebecca, Reade, Megan and Caitlyn for their compassionate care. A special thank you to Carmen and Franca Lepore for their love and support. Friends and family may call at the Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road, 705-945-7758) on Monday, January 30th, 2017 from 6 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Veronica’s Parish on Tuesday, January 31st, 2017 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Ron Ambeault officiating. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum.
