With heavy hearts we regret to announce the passing of Ersilia on Saturday, February 4, 2017. Born on December 15, 1932 to the late Raffaele (Chiarello) and the late Luigi Longo in Serra Aiello Cosenza Italy. Left to mourn her loss is her much loved and cherished husband of 60 years Ettorino Cuglietta. Most loving and wonderful mother to Ronaldo, Geniale, Emilia Lepore (Remo) and Dino (Lori). Much adored nana to the biggest joys of her life; Stefanie, Mark, Andrew and Patrick and Angie. Great grandmother of Thomas and Andrew. Loving sister to Maria Longo (late Ottavio), Mela Scanga (late Giuseppe), Achille (late Maria), Angela, Mafalda Pagliaro (Mario), Elvira, Franco (Belen) Longo (late Maria), Nella Longo (late Settimio), Gino (Anna), Lina Montemurro (Giuseppe) and Florindo (Lina). Daughter-in-law to the late Emilia and late Geniale Cuglietta. Sister-in-law of the late Gugliemo and late Lucia Cuglietta, late Filomena Chiarello (late Italo), late Ida Cuglietta (late Vittorio), late Margherita Berardelli (Ciccio), Ortenzio Cuglietta (late Serafina), Irma and Geniale Falsetto. Ersilia will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, little Steeler and a true friend to everyone who knew her. Friends are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Tuesday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Gregory’s Church on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Brandon Doherty officiating. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, St. Gregory’s Parish or charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Thank you to all the doctors and nurses, C.H.F. clinic nurses (especially Brenda Pratt), all the nurses on 3rd floor that took care of her in the past few years. To Dr. Ianni, Dr. Jarrett, Dr. Berg, Dr. Shaffiee, Dr. Barry, Dr. Fratesi and Dr. Mathew, thank you for your professionalism, care and compassion shown to Ersilia. Special thanks to James, Jenny, Morgan, Jennifer and all the P.S.W.’s that she grew to love and have in her home. Thanks to C.H.F. nurse Jennifer Hendrie for all her home visits and to all the Bayshore nurses that came to care for her. Mamma’s cherished and constant dedication to everyone beyond any selfish act will always remain in our everlasting loving hearts. Heaven has received a true angel.
