Obituary of Robert Dawson
Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
We are devastated to announce the sudden loss of Robert Edward Dawson. He leaves behind to mourn his wife Marion of 54 years. Lovingly remembered by children Lisa (David) O'Donnell, Rob (Kate) and Lorene (Stewart) Krajewsky. Much loved Papa and Pa D (great grandfather) to Elizabeth (Rory), Erin (Jason) and Veda, Steven (Shannon) and Isley, Christine, Darren, Nick (Janelle), Michelle and Beau, and special Papa to Ben, Emjay and Ashley. Brother of Wayne (late Sandra), Lee (Pauline) and Joyce. Brother-in-law to Arlene Loucks (late Mac), Joan and Doug Craig, and Jeannie Felaber (late Seymour). He will be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by many friends on both sides of the border. Bob's passion was to help those students who needed extra help; he taught for the Sault Ste. Marie Public School Board from 1966 until his retirement in 1995. During this time, he was a teacher and principal at Korah, Bawating and Alexander Henry High Schools. He was a sports fan and travelled all across Canada to watch his grandchildren participate in curling, hockey and football. Bob was an avid outdoorsman and traveller, completing his hunting and fishing bucket list as well as his trips south to Tombstone and north to Dawson City. A third trip south was planned with family and friends for later this month. A Celebration of Life will take place Thursday 9 February at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the Reception Centre. Please join us in remembering Bob by participating in his favorite pass time of sharing a story or two...or three. In lieu of flowers, donations to Pauline's Place, the Salvation Army or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. A Heart felt Thank You to Constable Prophet and the first responders who showed their compassion at such a difficult time, to neighbours Matt and Laura for their kindness, and to Dr. Berry, Dr. Schaffie and the entire Renal Team.
