Obituary of Joyce Elaine Ross
Please share a memory of Joyce to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with heavy hearts, Joyce’s family sadly announces the passing of their beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother at the F. J. Davey Home on Sunday, February 26, 2017 at the age of 93. Joyce was a sweet, loving, and generous lady whose devotion to her family was her main priority in life. Beloved wife and soulmate of the late John Cameron Ross (1996). Loving mother and friend of sons Donald (Ann) and David of Sault Ste. Marie, and Douglas (Debi) of Regina, SK. She leaves behind her grandchildren, Jill Edwards of New York City, Greg Edwards (Eriko) of Tokyo, Japan, Tyler Ross (Juliette) of Vancouver, BC, and Christopher Ross (Amanda) of Regina, SK. and great grandchildren Jacob, Domenic, and Leo Ross and Keira Edwards. Daughter of the late James and the late Clara Russell. Her siblings and their spouses, – Bob Russell (Marian), Helen Thompson (Bill), Betty Huggard (Leonard), Bill Russell (Shirley), and John Russell – have all predeceased her. Survived by sisters-in-law Helen Ross (late Bob) and Marilyn Ross (late Ron). Fondly remembered by her only surviving first cousin Mary Grace Scott of Renfrew and her many nieces and nephews spread across the country. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Joyce's life and interment at Greenwood Cemetery will take place at a later date. Anyone wishing to remember Joyce through a donation in her memory is requested to consider the F.J. Davey Home Residents Council or ARCH. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Apple Orchard Wing, 2nd floor, F. J. Davey Home, for their excellent and compassionate care during their mother's residency there. We know that Joyce would also be pleased if, in her memory, friends and family were to undertake a small silent act of kindness to someone less fortunate.
Her life is a beautiful memory,
Her death is a silent grief.
She sleeps in God’s beautiful garden
In the sunshine of perfect peace.
We all miss her very much,
But realize God knew best.
He let us have her for many years
then gently lay her to rest.
