ff, with his loving wife Waltraut “Vi” of 49 years at his side. Cliff celebrated his 70th birthday with friends and his favourite Black Forest cake last week. Son of the late Beatrice James. He will be especially missed by his dear sister Elaine and brother-in-law Dale of British Columbia, his sister Marjorie Defend (Italo) and brother-in-law Wayne Wendt (Nancy). Also, missed by his feline friend Lucky. Cliff loved the outdoors and enjoyed skiing and especially fishing. He liked playing poker and playing in poker tournaments. The sauna at Club Cabana was a favourite place of his. He passed many hours enjoying the sun, growing tomatoes and having good glasses of wine on his deck. He will be missed by his many friends, neighbours and colleagues. Cliff started his working career at Dominion Stores Ltd. and retired from the Algoma District School Board as a counsellor. He enjoyed working with youth and his wish was that he could make a difference in a young person’s life. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Reception Centre at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. A private family graveside inurnment will take place at a later date. We would like to thank the doctors, nurses and support staff of the Sault Area Hospital involved in Cliff’s care. A special thank you goes to the caring and compassionate nurses of the SAH – ICU.
