Obituary of Angelo Provenzano

PROVENZANO, Angelo- Passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Sault Area Hospital on Thursday, April 27th 2017 in his 86th year. Much loved husband of the late Matilde (nee Pagliaro) for 33 years. Dear father of Marcel (Paula), Maddalena Ferris (Damon), Carlo (Evelyn), and Mary Condie (Tracy). Proud grandfather of Erika (Christopher) and Lucas Provenzano, Daniel (Consuelo), David, and Miranda Ferris, Nikolaus and Zakary Provenzano and Megan (Adam) and Tamara Condie.

Predeceased by his parents Cipione and Magdelana Provenzano. Brother of the late Linda Meraglia (late Giovanni), Tina Degregorio (late Sebastian), Dora Pagliaro (late Eduardo), late Joe Provenzano (Lena), Giaconda Meraglia (late Lorenzo), Maria Maione (late Pasquale), late Rosaria Palarchio (late Luigi) and late Esterina Pino (late Alberto). Angelo leaves behind many nieces and nephews. He will fondly be remembered by his nephew and good friend Tony Pino and his wife and Lena. Angelo immigrated to Canada in 1952 where he landed in Halifax and settled in Sault Ste. Marie. He worked at Algoma Steel for 30 years before retiring in 1985. At Angelo’s request, a private family service will be held. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation or ARCH.

The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation and thanks to the incredible team of dedicated medical professionals at the Sault Area Hospital Intensive Care Unit, particularly Dr. DiFabio, Dr. Landry, Shaun Lynne, Shannon, Ashley, Eva, Mike, and Brenda.  In addition the family would also like to sincerely thank We Care, Bay Shore Nursing and Lori Rose from the Group Health Centre for their exceptional care of Angelo. www.northwoodfuneral.com
