Farewell to a fine gentleman, my Uncle Frank.
I will not forget:
How he made our family times memorable with his special 'Frank' words and phrases, by his particular way of saying them; we can still hear him and smile.
How he taught me to swim, tough-love style, at Island Lake.
How he 'walloped' me in ping-pong and crib.
How he walked me down the aisle when my Dad was just gone.
How he watched over his disabled sister, my Mom, for decades; he was the apple of her eye.
How he charmed us all with the glint in his eye and his quick laugh.
Thank you, Frank, for all you gave us, and especially for your service to our country. I will miss speaking to you on November 11, but I will not forget.
My sympathy goes out to Cath and Anne as well as to Frank's devoted grandson Rob.
Je me souviens
