Obituary of Giuseppe Perri

Passed away peacefully at the F.J. Davey Home on Monday, May 1, 2017 at the age of 93. Joseph was born in Decollatura, Catanzaro Italy on March 19, 1924 to Rosa and Francesco Perri. Beloved brother of the late Angelo Perri (Alba), and the late Carmine Perri (Marietta). Dearly loved and cherished uncle of Rose (John), Mirella and Francesca (Luis). Loving great uncle of Jaclyn, Stephanie, Tyler and Angelica. Lovingly remembered by his "Davey Home family”, cousins and friends. In 1949, he immigrated to Canada with his mother Rosa and younger brother Angelo. He worked at Algoma Steel for many years before retiring in the eighties. He will be remembered as a devoted son, a loving brother and a special uncle. A true gentleman from another era, he was kind-hearted and generous to all, and especially to his nieces who adored him like a 'second' father. We will dearly miss our Uncle Joe. Family and friends are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road, Sault Ste. Marie 705-945-7758) on Friday, May 5, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.  Funeral mass to follow at St. Jerome Church at 1:00 p.m. with Father Pat Woods officiating.  Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Joseph's memory to the F.J. Davey Home Foundation or SAH-Cancer Care Fund would be appreciated by the family.  A special thank you to Dr. Hirvi, Dr. Fratesi and all the wonderful nurses and caregivers of Apple Orchard, 2nd floor and the entire staff of the F.J. Davey Home. An especially heartfelt thank you to Krista, Sandra, Stacy and Lise who treated our uncle with love, tenderness and compassion throughout his residence and in his final days. Thank you for watching over him.
