Dear Lukenda Family,
I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. and Mrs. Lukenda during my days working at the Delta hotel and my time with Habitat for Humanity. Seeing him in the halls of the hotel He always had time to flash his bright smile to us and wish a good morning or hello as he passed. Also during a home dedication for a Habitat home he was right down talking and laughing with the kids truly showing his very kind heart! My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this very difficult time!

To the Lukenda Family:
Please accept our condolences on your great loss.
May I say that Lou truly was a warm and gentle giant of a man.
All of my family were friends and patients of Dr. Lou and knew what a great guy he was.
At the least, one could say that he was fully engaged with all he met and he treated all with dignity and respect..
He will be sorely missed.
May God comfort you and bless all of you during the difficult days ahead.
Allan Wysynski (son of Rose (Yukich) and Alexander Wysynski) and family.

Tim, my deepest condolences to you and your family. Your dad was a gentle giant in my eyes. Tender, thoughtful and soft spoken. Deserving of the many tributes paid him and the honours bestowed. While he attained great prominence he was always humble. I am so glad to have known him. May your sorrow be replaced with joy and laughter from fond memories of his life well lived.

Mae, on behalf of Jean and I, we wish to offer our condolences on the passing of Lou. Our years working for and with Lou were some of the most fulfilling of our health care years. Our 23 years of association always made us feel like family. You and Lou always provided our family with a great example of a Christian life well lived. Lou was always available to talk business, sports or family. He always wanted input from those who worked for and with him. Jean and I always felt as though we were part of his extended family. We will miss him. We wish you and your family the best during this difficult time.

I was so sorry to learn of Lou's death. I have special memories of the our involvement when the Wolves and the Hounds applied to be members of the OHL. Lou was certainly instrumental in making the Hounds what they are today. It was always a pleasure to meet up with him whenever our teams met. Lou was a true gentleman who was in the game and life for the right reasons. I know you have many special memories as a family. Lou will not be forgotten. I send my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Mae and family. Our deepest condolences to the entire Lukenda family on the passing of "Uncle Lou". That's the way I always knew him and my brothers and sister referred to him. Lou and Mae were always very dear friends to my parents and whether we visited their household or they visited us, it was always a pleasure to be around Uncle Lou. Throughout Lou's life and many accomplishments, he always remained a humble and caring person, who saw and treated others with compassion and welcomed everyone with a warm smile, utmost respect, and sincere kindness. Always remembered and already sorely missed.

My wife Elena & I offer our condolences to the Lukenda family. The loss of Lou Lukenda is one that will impact many lives as well as the city of Sault Ste. Marie. Lou had a lasting effect on everyone he touched and the legacy he leaves behind will be one that will be forever remembered. Lou was my first dentist here in the Sault and one of the few that had the ability to make you feel so comfortable and relaxed even though the procedure he was performing was not so comfortable. I remember when I made the basketball team at St. Mary's College when it first opened and the school did not have the money to buy the uniforms and Lou donated them so we did not have to play in our gym clothing. He always had time to stop and talk and the conversation usually ended up talking about his Detroit Tigers or the Soo Greyhounds. He was a kind and very generous man and I am very proud to have known him. Our prayers and thoughts are with the Lukenda family during this time of sorrow.
