Obituary of John Edward Findlay

Passed away peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital, surrounded by his family at the age of 70.  Cherished husband and friend of Catherine Knight for 24 years.  Loving father of Kevin Shaughnessy (Robin), Tonya Evely (Reg), Michelle Turco (John) and Christine Knight (Kirk Mills).  Grandfather of April, Christopher, Kevin Shaughnessy, Jasmin Coté, Amanda Weist, Rob Turco, Stephen Turco (Maegan Coverdale), Amber, Devon and the late Thomas Gulbranson.  Great grandfather of Joel, Cameron Edward Louis Turco and Peyton Shaughnessy.  Predeceased by his parents Edward and Mary (nee Clarke). Brother of the late Dorothy Zeppa (Ed), Don Findlay (Georgette), late Ron Findlay (Karen) and Alice Coté (Guy). John will be missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends. He will be remembered for his love of hunting, fishing and berry picking.  A fire will never be the same without you by my side.  Friends and family are invited to visit Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Saturday, May 27, 2017 from 10:30 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12:00 noon with Father Daniele Muscolino officiating. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery. Memorial donations to the SAH Cancer Care Fund or SAH Critical Care Fund would be appreciated by the family.  A special thank you to the entire staff in all areas of 2C, 3C and Emergency for all the care, compassion and visits made.
