Obituary of Beverly Defend

With great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of Beverly, at home surrounded by the love of her family and friends on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at the age of 66. Loving wife of Luciano for 45 years. Predeceased by her parents Kenneth and Eolè Cartmill. Dear sister of Kenneth (Heather), Charles (Claire) and Thomas. Daughter-in-law to the late Dusolina and Giuseppe Defend. Sister-in-law of Italo (Margaery), late Dino (Anna Marie), Grace Rathwell (Dennis) and Ann Marie Jeffery (Leon). Dearly loved aunt of Paulette Couturier, Jessica Narriman, Brianne Cartmill, Danny Defend, Clayton Cartmill, Kenny Cartmill, and Curtis Cartmill.  Special God mother of Kenny Cartmill, Melissa Svantesson, Paulette Couturier, Sonia Stortini and Matt Gibbs. Beverly will be deeply missed by her childhood friend Pam Gibbs. Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Thursday, June 22, 2017 from 12:30 p.m. until time of funeral service in the Chapel at 2:30 p.m. with Mrs. Helen Smith officiating.  Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family Special thank you to Percy and Donna Rae from Paramed for the care shown to Beverly.
