Obituary of John Lynn Stewart

Passed away peacefully at his home on St. Joseph Island on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at the age of 89.  Husband of the late Myrla.  Loving father of Ken (Catherine) of England, taylor of Vancouver, BC, Marty (Richard)of Hemlock Valley, BC and Laurie Bougie (Carey).  Grandfather of Matthew, Andrew and Jonathan Stewart and Travis and Spencer Belsito. Brother of the late Alf (Kay), late Evelyn Desaulnier (late Stan), Alex (Shirley), late Don (Pat), Bill (late Clara), Wendy Phillips (late Brian) and the late Patsy.  Brother-in-law of the late Jack Taylor (late Volley), Gordie Taylor (late Marion) and late Merri-Lee Desjardins (Bob).  John will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, friends, neighbours and his loyal assistant and friend Elma Lutes.  John was a proud and original founding member of the Soo Pee Wee Arena and his dedication and involvement is recognized by his membership in the Hall of Fame.  Cremation has taken place.  Friends and family are invited to a come and go reception at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Thursday, June 29, 2017 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Memorial donations to the Soo Pee Wee Arena would be appreciated by the family.  John’s family would like to thank his many care givers, especially nurse Amy for their excellent care of Dad.
