Obituary of Ilda Constance Bumbacco

It is with deep sadness we announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother Ilda Bumbacco (nee DeZordo) on Monday, August 7, 2017 in her 96th year, surrounded by her loving family. Dear wife of the late Ernie Bumbacco.  Cherished mother of Jerry (Fay), Kenny (Ann) and Jamie (Betty-Jean).  Respected and much loved Nana to Christopher (Tricia), Cindy (Terry), Stephanie (Mike), Stacie (Tom), Kelly, Katie, Bruno (Sara) and Joseph.  Dearest Great-Nana of Owen, Keira, Matthew and Gabriel. Predeceased by her immediate and extended family members including her parents Anthony and Theresa DeZordo, brother John DeZordo (Derna), sister Diane Perron (Ed), brothers and sisters-in-law Joe Bumbacco (Emelia), Mello Bumbacco (Polly) and Rose Drewitt (Doug). Always remembered by her many nieces and nephews.  Ilda was noted for her wonderful Italian cooking, keen mind, sense of humour, her love of travelling, going to the casino and watching the Greyhounds.  She now joins her many dear friends in Heaven where the Rumoli Board is set to be played. Above all things, she loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren so much and was extremely proud of each one. A celebration of Ilda’s life will take place at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Friday, August 11, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.  A funeral mass to follow at St. Jerome Church at 11:00 a.m. with Father Daniele Muscolino officiating.  Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.  Memorial donations to the F.J. Davey Home Foundation or Sault Area Hospital Renal Dialysis Care Fund would be greatly appreciated. Our sincerest thank you to the Great Northern Retirement Home, SAH 3rd floor nursing staff, Renal Unit, F.J. Davey Home Birch Lane 1 – particularly Mandy, Cheryle, Megan and John.  Your care, dedication, compassion and genuine concern for our mom were deeply appreciated.  

Family is everything – “Buonasera” Nana. Rest in peace Mom.
