Elsie married her husband Emile Boulet 74 years ago in Swan Lake Manitoba. The young couple
managed the agricultural co-operative in Somerset Manitoba for several years . When the Trans
Canada pipeline came through in the mid fifties, the young couple followed the construction to northern
Ontario, and eventually settlied in Geraldton Ontario. Emile worked at the pipeline station there for many
years while Elsie sewed many dresses and did alterations for the local ladies who admired her talents.
In 1969 they discovered camping along with many other young families. The KOA Campgound franchise
opportunity was what they had been looking for. They purchased property on the fifth line of Sault Ste.
Marie, cleared the bush while keeping the park feeling and Elsie and Emile operated this business
themselves for almost twenty years. Their campground won many awards;, and was always a busy place.
They retired to their home on the fifth line and grew flowers and lots of potatoes in their big garden.
In their nineties they moved to Collegiate Heights.
