Obituary of Josephine DeSimone

Our sweetheart of a family matriarch has gone to join the love of her life, the family patriarch, in Heaven. Josephine (Peppina) DeSimone passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the age of 89, just three weeks short of her 90th birthday. Beloved wife of the late Carmen DeSimone, who preceded her to Heaven in 2012. Left to mourn our matriarch's passing but to cherish her life and forever hold in our hearts the genuine warmth of her unquestionable love are daughters Theresa Leask (Doug), Franca Huckson (Bill), Silvana Huckson (Jo), Mary Russon (Randy) and Julie DeSimone-Syms (Billy); grandchildren Jennifer Leask (Kyle), Jeffrey Leask (Franca), Michael Flammia (Sue), Kelly Huckson, Chris Huckson (Maria), Cara Russon, Bobby Russon, Sarah Huckson (Elpidio), Katie Huckson (Terrence), Jake Huckson, Jesse DeSimone, Taylor McAllister (Trevor), Brandon Syms and Brittany Syms. Great grandmother of Brookelyn, Owen, Sophie, Aliyah, Julian (Autumn), Carter, Colton and Chloe. Loving sister of Ada Provenzano (late Carmen) and special sister-in-law of Joe DeSimone (late Marian.) Aunt of Frank (Julie), Lucas (Cara), Jana (Greg) and Mark (Paula.) Predeceased by her parents Francesco and Assunta Canaris. Special thanks to her many caregivers, including Kotitalo staff and the F.J. Davey Home staff (Driftwood Beach 2). Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 10:00 am – 11:30 am. Funeral Service to be held in the chapel at 12:00 pm with Father Daniele Muscolino officiating. Memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
