Obituary of James Max Mattila

Peacefully passed away at the Sault Area Hospital on Thursday, January 11, 2018. Beloved husband, best friend and sweetie of Jean Doris Mattila (Ironside) for over 64 years. Son of the late Max and May Mattila and son-in-law of the late Alex and Mary Ironside. Beloved father of the late Jane Gearhart (Tracy), Joan Harnack (Richard), Doris Gowlett (late Lance), Perry Mattila (Debbie) and Liz Boyko. Dear brother of Gerry King (late Floyd), late Neelo Mattila, late Helen Warmington (late Ronnie), late Judy Quinn (late John), Ila Nichol (late Jimmy), Jenny McLeod (Bill) and Harold Mattila (Karen). Dear grandfather of Nicole, Amy, Perry (Mel), Justin (Kayla), Jessica (Brent), Tanya, Denny and Jon. Great grandfather of 13. He will be sadly missed by all. At Jim’s request, there will be no services held. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Fera, Dr. Matthew, Lori Rose RN and the PSW’s from We Care for their compassionate care.
