Mr. Troietto was my Gr. 8 teacher at Our Lady of Lourdes School, just over 30 years ago. Though I was, initially, a little intimidated by Mr T, I came to appreciate the high expectations he set for his students and, most especially, his character and dry humour.
Though many years have passed, I can still hear his voice, booming, teaching us strategies for spelling some pretty tricky words. e.g., the capital city of PEI: "Char-lot-TE-TOWN" (heavy emphasis on the "ow").
I was so saddened to learn of Mr. Troietto's passing; he was truly one of a kind.
Thank you for the learning and the memories, Sir.
Offering sincere condolences to, and prayers for, Jerry, and friends.
