Obituary of Thomas Edward Alexander

Died courageously and peacefully with his daughters by his side on Sunday, April 29, 2018 at the age of 75. Tom is finally reunited with his wife Carla (Mattioli). He was the extremely proud father of Kimberly (Brett) and Carolyn Gagne (T.Joe) and the adoring Grampa of Ezra, Matthew, Carmen, Rhaya and Veronica. Tom is predeceased by his parents Russel and Bernadette Alexander and sister Mary. He will be missed by his dearest friends Dawn, Mark, Jordan and Olivia Trudeau and Janie Gagne, his friends and staff at the Finnish Rest Home and Great Northern Retirement Home, the Knights of Columbus and St. Jerome’s Parish. He will also be missed for his countless volunteer hours selling tickets for the Sault Area Hospital Foundation and the Rotary Club of Sault Ste. Marie. Tom had an unwavering faith in God and his positive outlook on life is an example to us all. His corny jokes and long-winded tales will be missed by all who heard them. Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre on Thursday, May 3, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass to be held at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church on Friday, May 4, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Pat Woods officiating. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial donations to Hearth & Stroke Foundation or Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family. Special thanks to Meghan, Sharon, Robin at the SAH ICU, Glenn and the rest of our friends and family for all of their support. Dad would be pleased to know he left us in such good hands.
