Obituary of Tommaso Parrella-Ilaria

Surrounded by the love of his family at the Sault Area Hospital on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at the age of 92. Loving husband of Carmela Parrella-Ilaria for 70 years. Devoted father of Maria Borrelli (late Carmine) and the late Joe (Rocchina). Cherished Nonno of Tom (Jennifer), Ricky (Shannon) and Cindy Vecchio (Gennaro), Gian-Luca Borrelli (Jennifer), Tanya Borrelli and Adriana Kairiss (Kevin). Big Nonno of Alyssa, Meghan, Emily, Isabella, Rikki, Nickolas, Shayna, Briella, Ryker, Leah, Kyla, Alexander and baby Kairiss on the way. Special uncle of Maria Parrella-Ilaria (Mark Dunn). Predeceased by 3 sisters and 3 brothers all of Italy. Survived by his brother Antonio (late Anna) of Sault Ste. Marie. Tommaso adored his family and loved to pass time in his vegetable garden. Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road, 705-945-7758) on Friday, May 11, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Funeral Mass to be held at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church at 12:00 p.m. with Father Pat Woods officiating. Memorial donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Thank you to the ICU Doctors and Nurses at the SAH for their care and compassion during our family’s short time there. 

Nonno always said “Flowers don’t fill your stomach” unless they are zucchini flowers.
