Dear Mary Ann and family,
I am so sorry to hear about Nick's passing. I was doing some online research and came across Nick's obituary by accident today. It was a shock. It has been almost 25 years since I lived in the upstairs apartment of your beautiful home on Cathcart St. I was finishing my degree at Algoma University at the time. You and Nick were always so warm and kind. Isn't it funny how our memories preserve moments in time? In my mind, Travis is just coming home from playing hockey, Luke is still a happy go lucky little boy, Nick is vacuuming, I can still hear you calling to the boys to come get ready for dinner, and the house smells wonderful from whatever it is you're cooking in the kitchen. I have so many fond memories... I remember the roasted peppers you sent up to the apartment for us to try. Every autumn since, when I see those little small round red peppers at the market, I think of you and Nick. You sent up so many delicious meals - and they were all so appreciated and enjoyed. I was dreadfully homesick being so far from my family back then, and it gave me comfort to hear your family enjoying time together. I will always remember how vibrant and alive Nick was, and how much he loved his family. You all have a place in my heart and memories. May you find peace in your memories and in each other.
God bless,
Heather Lloyd

I met Nicky so long ago I don’t remember exactly how. I knew Johnny & Timmy Pezzuto when I was four so it was probably just after that. He lived at 612 Queen West and I lived across the street at 613. We were best friends from then on along with the Pezzutos, Franco Marasco, Frank Amato Genie Fata, Frank Francella plus many more. Our childhood included school, sports, (especially our soccer team, the mighty Rangers), the locks, the rink at Mcfadden, walking the tracks and a lot of just hanging out at the corner and anywhere else we could have fun. I also remember we seemed to spend a lot of time throwing rocks. The targets were mostly harmless, usually empty bottles or freight trains and of course anything that floated. Yeah, there was a little bit of church but we usually stood at the back so we could leave early. The best part of our friendship was that while we all argued about things like who was the fastest runner or Batman versus Superman, we never ever had a cross word between us or said anything really mean to each other. We were all, without doubt or question, friends. As we eventually went our separate ways I would only Nicky periodically but he was the same good & kind man who was my friend as a boy. I can see from what is being said about his passing that I am not the only one who feels this way. My condolences to you Mary Anne and your family .I know he will be missed.

Our condolences to the Ruicci family. We remember Nick from soccer. He coached Jamie on Civics for many years. We were saddened to hear of his passing. Jamie and I hold many memories from those soccer days. Jamie has indeed kept moving his feet. He now lives in London Ont. with his wife and two sons. His sons are too young for soccer yet, but Jamie still plays and hopes both his boys will too. All this in part due to Nick. Please know there are people out there with many memories. May god help you through this difficult time. Karen and Jamie Robertson.
