It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Rosa on Thursday, September 20, 2018. Cherished wife of Nick for 54 years. Much loved mother of Bruno (Tracey), Lisa Jenkins (Jason), Antonietta Bitonti (Frank) and Maria. Proud Nonna of Nicholas, Bruno Jr. and Julia Romano, Jenna and Leanne Jenkins, John and Elena Bitonti, Dylan and Leah Derbyshire. Daughter of the late Giuseppe and Elisabetta “Antonietta” Valente. Dear sister of the late Bruno (late Victoria), Maria Roti (late Vito), late Tony, Sam (late Rose), Cathy Desimone (late Frank), Teresa Zaccaria (Mike) and Cosmo (Lina). Daughter-in-law of the late Bruno and Elisabetta Romano. Sister-in-law of the late Frank (Angelina), late Bruno (late Rosa), late Sam, late Rocco (late Pat), late Concetta and the late Raffaele. Rosa will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews and friends. Rosa’s family immigrated from Italy in December 1959. She was an avid member of St. Veronica’s Catholic Church and belonged to the Italian Prayer Group. Rosa will be remembered for her wonderful cooking, infectious smile and her kind giving spirit. Family and friends are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre on Monday, September 24, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass to be held at St. Veronica’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Ron Ambeault officiating. Entombment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or St. Veronica’s Catholic Church would be appreciated.
