We wish to express our sincere condolences to all the members of uncle Emile's family. We very much enjoyed meeting him and aunt Elsie each time we transited through Sault Ste Marie. During our last visit in July 2018, he expressed his joy and was looking forward with great satisfaction to the upcoming family reunion that was to take place a few weeks later. We are happy that you were able to have this family gathering, that he was able to be surrounded by his loved ones one last time before his final departure. Thank you for informing us. We were so sad to read of Slim's passing. Nelson and his dad Elmer first met Slim when they did the electrical work for them at the KOA. Years later when Nelson and I moved next to them on Fifth Line, Slim and Elsie were wonderful neighbours to us for the ten years we lived there. We kept in touch and visited them for the first ten years since moving south but sadly lost contact for the last few years. Your dad's energy never ceased to amaze us. His garden and yard were always perfectly manicured and they were always happy to tell us about the most recent visitors to their bird feeders and the occasional bear who stopped by. They got a kick out of our huskies howling at the passing train and enjoyed visiting the kids when they were just babies and toddlers before we moved. When my husband was working out of town your Dad would always beat me to garbage duty and bring it to the roadside for me. We have many fond memories of them both and extend our sincere condolences to you all. Rev. 21:3,4
