Obituary of Linda King
In loving memory of Linda King (nee Furlong), who passed away peacefully on Friday, December 7, 2018, at Extendicare Maple View, after a long and courageous battle with ALS. Daughter of the late Ethel and Wesley Furlong. Linda leaves behind her son Matthew (Dana), and beloved granddaughter Grace. Special friend to Jim Bradley. Sister of Marge (late Gib), Della (late John), Winnie (late John), Jack (Faye), late Ted (Faith) and the late Del (Jeanne). Aunt of many nieces and nephews. Born in Manitoba, Linda served as an elementary teacher for the Algoma District School Board for 33 years. She assisted countless children during her life with development of basic critical reading and arithmetic skills. A wonderful, devoted mother, Linda also enjoyed time to travel, golf, and read. Linda will be immensely missed but never forgotten. A tremendous thank you to Jim Bradley, as well as all the staff at Maple View, for all the daily support they provided Linda throughout her illness. A special thanks to the medical staff who assisted with her end-of-life care. As per Linda’s request, no funeral or visitation will take place. Memorial donations to the ALS Society of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
