Obituary of Rocco Turco
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we, the family of Rocco Turco, announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and nonno on Thursday, December 27, 2018 at the age of 87. Rocco leaves behind the love of his life, Pina, after sharing every day with her through almost 60 years of marriage. Dearest father of Mario Turco, Silvana Turco, Lisa Brown (Mark) and Lori Turco. Cherished Nonno of Micaela (Roberto), Rocco, Robert, Vanessa and Andrew. Son of the late Rosa and Pasquale Turco. Dear brother of the late Antonio Turco (late Maria), late Mario Turco, late Vincenza Marrelli (Nicola), late Concetta Runco (late Pietro), Maria Calendino (late Francesco). Dear son-in-law of the late Michelina and late Carmine Pellegrino. Brother-in-law of Victor Pellegrino, Antonetta Rossi (Sini), Nicola Pellegrino (Fiorina), Anna Pellegrino (late Mario), Maria Greco (Antonio), and Francesca Zaccaria (Biaggio). Rocco will be sorely missed by many nieces and nephews who he loved and cherished like his very own children, and who all loved spending as much time as they could with their funny uncle Rocky. Eternally reunited with his late nephew Pasquale Turco.
Rocco was a loving, devoted, hardworking man, and everything he did he did for his family. He always balanced work with play, friends, fun and laughter, and every friend of Rocco’s family knew and felt they were family too. Rocco was always very happy sharing food, wine, un bicchierino, espresso and dolce. He had a passion for playing cards and bocce, and passing time with family and friends. Listening to music and dancing with his loved ones filled Rocco’s heart with joy. Never being one for sitting still, Rocco always kept his mind and hands busy by playing the accordion, gardening, making wine and salami, and fixing everything in his home from gardening tools to the family car, and anything else that came along. Having a capa tosta, Rocco had an unstoppable love of learning, and he never ever gave up on anyone or anything. His joking nature and infectious smile leave a big hole in our hearts, but leave a lasting impression, memories, and stories for everyone who was lucky enough to cross his fun and loving path.
