Peacefully in her 80th year on Saturday, January 5, 2019, Ester Marie Huckson passed away at the Sault Area Hospital after a lengthy battle with many health issues. Soulmate of the late Alvin. Predeceased by her parents Loretta and Arthur Paulson. Devoted mother of Tracy (Dave), Stephen and Ann Marie (Tim). Cherished Grandma of Shanna (Steve), Morgan and Alex. Great Grandma of Kameron, Hayden and Weston, whom she adored. Sister of the late Chummy and late Shirley, Dorothy (Allan) and Judy. She will be dearly missed by many nieces, nephews and her long-time friends Mary, Jackie, Carol, Eva, Bob and her cat Nikki. Ester always enjoyed a good glass of wine, playing cards, the casino, always looking forward to the next lunch date and being a mother hen to family and friends. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Gerard Majella Church on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Brendan Doherty officiating. Reception to follow in the Parish hall. Ester will be laid to rest in the spring, on Squirrel Island, beside her husband of 56 years. Memorial donations to ARCH or St. Gerard Majella Front Entrance Building Fund would be appreciated. We would like to thank the SAH nurses and staff on 2B, her PSW’s that helped her in her home over the last 3 years and the Parabus service. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).
