Passed away peacefully at ARCH (Hospice) surrounded by the love of her family on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at the age of 87.  She is now reunited with her beloved husband Leo.  Cherished mother of Roger (Paulette), Andre (Patty), Ivan (Vanda), Paul (Snezana) and Denise (John). Predeceased by her parents Hormidas and Rosina Gravel. Dear sister of the late Marie-Jeanne, late Yvette (late Paul Desjardins), late Jean-Marc (Dolores), late Rodolphe (late Beulah), Leopold (Alberte), Pauline (late Raymond Cyr) and the late Pierrette Gravel.  She will also be missed by her surviving brothers and sisters-in-law Germaine Fountain (late Doug), Anna Thibodeau (late Albert) and René Ouellet (late Thérèse). Hermance will be dearly missed by her many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A long-time school teacher and later special ed consultant with the Huron-Superior Catholic School Board, Hermance spent the last decades of her life indulging her passion for travel, exploring Canada from coast to coast and well over 40 countries throughout the world. Friends and family are invited to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road, 705-945-7758) on Friday, January 18, 2019 for a short funeral service in the chapel at 6:00 p.m.  Memorial donations made to the ARCH (Algoma Residential Community Hospice) would be appreciated by the family.  Special thank you to the friends and staff of the Great Northern Retirement Home, Dr. Nicole Apostle and the palliative care and Algoma LHIN teams and especially to all the wonderful Angels at ARCH.
