Obituary of Mike Bourgeois
It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Michael at ARCH on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at the age of 69. Best friend and soul mate of Jennifer for 31 years. Proud father of Dawne Trozzo (Jason), Nicole Pearce (Ed), Billy St. Jules, Danielle Bourgeois (Shawn) and Jim Caswell. Adored Papa of many grandchildren and great grandchildren who love their Papa! Beloved son of Eileen and the late Joe Bourgeois. Son-in-law of Eldon and Lauris Armstrong. Loved brother of the late Louise, Phil (Theresa), Jeanette Clarida (Bruce), Rose Hayward (Rick), Tim (Teresa), Mariette Bell (Greg), Kathy, Rob (Linda) and Carole (Leigh). Brother-in-law of Carol Armstrong, Judy Armstrong and Susan Armstrong. Mike will be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and special friends. Mike was a kind and gentle man who loved nothing more than to make people smile. With his quick wit and great sense of humor, you didn’t leave a conversation with Mike without a belly laugh or at least a grin. He and his wife, Jeni loved the outdoors and spent many summers camping at Friendly Lake and later Ranger Lake. They enjoyed fishing and spending time in their land cruiser, named “I Can’t Say…” which once again is a reflection on Mikes sense of humor. In their earlier years Mike and Jeni owned a farm where they shared many laughs and special memories. Mike earned himself the name Dr. Doo-Little because all the animals on the farm loved to follow him around. He was very active in his church, Mountain View Baptist Church and would often say, “it was a place where everyone truly cares for each other.” An amazing man, who loved his family with all he had. He taught us all to “Live Life & Love Life”. Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Monday, January 21, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service to be held in the chapel on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Scott Krugg officiating. Memorial donations to ARCH or Mountain View Baptist Church would be appreciated by the family. Thank you to Rita Mannarino, all the many nurses, PSW and care staff who have helped Mike and our family through out this journey. Special thank you to all of our family and friends for the visits, phones calls and simply being there.
