Obituary of Yvonne Marie Desneges MacMillan

Peacefully passed away at ARCH on Sunday, January 20, 2019 with her daughter by her side at the age of 78. Beloved wife of the late Graydon. Loving mother of Catherine St. Germain (Samuel Pyke), Steve (Dorraine Poppe) and Gary (Heather). Much loved Grama of Travis, Brian (Emily), Ryan, Tyler, Stephanie (Kolby) and Samantha (Shawn). Proud Great Grama of Graydon, Carter and Nova. Daughter of the late Seraphin and Berthe Quesnel. Dear sister of Jeannine Grisevich (Joe), Annette Reaume (Rene) and Alice Caul (John). Sister-in-law of the late Don MacMillan (late Stella Rivard), late Gerry MacMillan (late Gayle), late June Simonini (late Aldo), late Melvin MacMillan (Paulette), late Gordon MacMillan (Margaret), late Keith MacMillan (Lois), late Bill MacMillan (Judy) and the late Patty Shapiro (Joe). Special aunt of many nieces and nephews. Yvonne was the happiest getting dirt under her nails. She loved planting her garden, fussing with her flowerbeds and lounging by her pool. She was a dedicated school bus driver for 32 years until her retirement. She loved to sew, quilt, read, crochet, knit, needle point, crafts and helped paint everyone’s house a time or two. Her grandchildren were her greatest pride and joy, she cherished each moment she shared with them. From playing in the trees at Bellevue Park, tobogganing at the Bon Soo bum slides to rocking them quietly and getting cuddled. She loved fishing on her son Steve’s boat, camping with Dorraine, Steve, Catherine, Sam, Travis and Brian every summer. Yvonne loved…in the good old days, snow machining, dirt bikes, horseback riding and swimming. She loved spending time with her sisters and their families. There was always a party or get together going on at someone’s house. Yvonne loved all the furbabies that brought joy to her life, from owning horses, cats, dogs, to all the little hobby farm animals you could possibly think of, although, she drew the line at a cow! A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 12:00 noon until 3:00 p.m. at the Grand Gardens North. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Yvonne’s name to ARCH would be appreciated. A special thank you to Andre & Liz Thibert, Faye & Len Knickel and their families for the lifetime of love and support.
