Obituary of Antonio Adamo
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father and husband, Antonio, at the FJ Davey Home on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at the age of 86. Surrounded by family, Tony went peacefully into the welcoming arms of Jesus. Precious and loving husband of Saveria for 59 years. Adored father of Maria, Frank (Sandi) and Rose Toppan (Steve). Proud grandfather of his four grandchildren whom he loved with all his heart – Amanda Pozzebon Burke (Allan), David Pozzebon (Nikki), David Toppan (Alysha) and Dalton Toppan. Great grandfather to Elijah, Ezra and Everett Burke. Born in San Mango, D ’Aquino, Cantanzaro, Italy, Tony is the loving son of the late Maria and Francesco Adamo and son-in-law of the late Francesca and Ferrante Coccimiglio. Beloved brother of the late Nella Marino (late Sebastiano), late Adele Adamo, late Gina Lanzo (Peppe) all of Italy. He is the cherished brother of Rita Colosimo (Rosario), Emma Spinelli (Gianni) and Michele Adamo (Tina) all of Woodbridge, Ontario. Loving brother-in-law of the late Angela Iacucci (late Emilio), late Maria Florio (Carmine), Emilia Salomone (Tony) of London, Ontario and Lucia Guzzo (late Fortunato). Uncle of many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Antonio was very loved and respected by all his peers, friends, neighbours and relatives. He was a great fan of his Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays. He took pride in his garden and absolutely loved walking and being outdoors. Taking care of his family was his primary concern. Being around his grandchildren brought him the greatest joy. Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road, 705-945-7758) on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 from 10:30 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. Funeral Service to be held in the chapel at 12:30 p.m. with Father Trevor Scarfone officiating. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoluem. Memorial donations to the FJ Davey Home Foundation or St. Gregory’s Parish would be appreciated. A special thank you to Angela and Tony Iuliano. Your many visits brought Dad great joy! Thank you to Dr. Cheong. A very special thank you to the wonderful team at the Davey Home (administration, custodians, activities, nutrition teams). We especially want to thank the Amazing PSW’s and Nurses in Cedar Grove 2. You are truly angels! We take great comfort that Dad had the best care possible over the past five years. Thank you to each of you from the bottom of our hearts.
