Obituary of Howard Atkins

Please share a memory of Howard to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Howard Atkins in his 94th year on Thursday, March 21, 2019 at the F.J. Davey Home.

Much loved Father of Terri Elliott (Rick) and Lori Atkins.  Proud Grandpa to Lindsay Virene. Predeceased by his brother, Victor and will be missed by his sister-in-law, Theresa Atkins. Howard will be remembered as “Arky” by Doreen Atkins “Mish”. Fondly remembered by the families of Kelly McMullin and Michael Elliott.

Special thanks to Hope Elliott who brought much joy to Howard on her many visits to the Davey Home.

Through the years, Howard enjoyed snowmobiling, roller-skating, watching his favourite television shows - the news channel, figure skating and boxing, trips to Tim Hortons, time spent manicuring his lawn and most of all, time he spent with his family.

Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the F.J. Davey Home – Activities Department or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff at the Davey Home-Driftwood 2 and the Activities Department, for their compassion and care over the last five years. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road, 705-945-7758).
