Obituary of Ida Santoro
Surrounded by the love of her family, it is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Ida Santoro on Tuesday, March 26, 2019.
Ida will be greatly missed by her beloved husband of 53 years, Giovanni. Adored and cherished mother of Maria Santoro and Silvana Bassanello (Steve). Proud and ever-loving Nana of Emma and Megan Bassanello. Her two grand daughters were her very own priceless treasures here on earth. Her love for them was limitless and unconditional. The bond between them was immense and unwavering and without question has had a strong and positive influence on the young women they have become today. Her love for them will live in their hearts and minds for eternity.
Born in Trieste, Italy and predeceased by her parents, Amadeo and Nicoletta Stefano. Much loved sister of Frank Stefano (Rosa), late Giovanni and late Gina Scovino, and late Sergio Stefano (Angela). She will be lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles, and friends both in Canada and Italy.
You would always find Ida in her kitchen preparing her delicious meals with her loving and caring hands. It was her way of loving her family and building bonds that never break. The door was always opened and there was always an extra plate for anyone at her table.
She brought great joy and laughter to our travels together. Our “Group of 9” travelled to exciting places. New York City was her favourite and she would always have a laugh when we would announce “the Italians have arrived!” We will cherish the memories of our adventures together forever and will forever honour that we were able to experience it all with Mom.
Ma, continue love, guide and protect us up in heaven. Forever our angel. Forever loved and adored.
